About Us
Nestled along the Secret Coast of Mississippi, Go Gulfport is a trauma-informed community engagement, education, and advocacy initiative rooted in the belief that thriving neighborhoods begin with empowered residents and equitable development. Inspired by the success of Chicago’s Go Bronzeville campaign, Go Gulfport builds on years of grassroots relationship-building and organizing in railroad adjacent historic communities like Soria City, Broadmoor, Magnolia Grove and beyond. This initiative addresses health disparities and socioeconomic challenges through hyper-local programming—from community bike rides and safe routes to school forums to pop-up events and civic education workshops. At its core, Go Gulfport promotes inclusive mobility, trauma-informed reinvestment, and lifelong community development that centers people, place, and the local economy. With strong regional partners like Gillum-Young, Robinson + Harris and the Gulfport Gaslight District, Go Gulfport aims to dismantle racialized planning legacies and foster neighborhoods where all residents can live, work, and play with dignity and opportunity.

At Go Gulfport, we believe justice isn't just an idea—it’s a lived practice. We know every neighbor has power in them to shift the tide, rewrite the story, and breathe life into the kind of future we all deserve. Our work is about making sure the community holds the pen, not just turns the pages.
Our Mission
Go Gulfport is a community-rooted movement to heal, protect, and transform our relationship with people, land, and water through a fair and just exploration into collective power.

Our Vision
Go Gulfport envisions strong, resilient neighborhoods where families are empowered, local traditions are honored, and communities grow through shared responsibility, access, and opportunity. By fostering collaboration, improving local infrastructure, and supporting healthy, connected living, we aim to ensure that every resident can contribute to and benefit from a thriving Gulfport.
